The RYA Sea Survival course is a comprehensive training program designed for all small craft users, emphasizing the importance of survival knowledge in emergency situations at sea. The course focuses on liferafts, their equipment, and survival techniques, teaching participants how to launch rafts and actions to take immediately and in the longer term. It covers lifejacket design, hypothermia, and Search and Rescue techniques. A key feature is a two-hour practical pool session where students can use their own wet weather gear and lifejackets to experience real-life challenges of entering a liferaft in adverse conditions. This hands-on course, led by experienced instructors, is vital for those undertaking the RYA/ISAF Offshore Safety Course and is required for commercial endorsements on Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster
