The legacy of renowned shipbuilder Colin Archer, known for his sturdy rescue vessels, is celebrated in Larvik, and his influence is still felt throughout the sailing community.

Max Guests: 6 — This allows for personalized attention and a hands-on experience, ensuring each participant gets the most out of their sailing adventure.

Crew: Experienced Skipper & First Mate — A Yachtmaster certified skipper guarantees both safety and expert navigation, which is crucial for handling the challenges of open-water sailing.

Race day to day

Step on board, leave your worries behind, and embrace the challenge on the waves during The Colin Archer Memorial Race 450nm. Push your limits, explore new horizons, and embark on an unforgettable adventure that will fill your sailing heart with joy and pride.

Following is an example of how this adventure-trip might unfold:

Depart from Amsterdam, sail through the North Sea Canal to reach the IJmuiden Sea Locks. Navigate into the North Sea to Sail along the Dutch Coastline, passing the beautiful Wadden Islands. Use this as an opportunity for training, including sail changes and maneuvers.

In the Morning we start to complete the journey to Lauwersoog.
On arrival we rest and make final preparations for the Colin Archer Memorial Race. Attend the race briefing, meet other participants.

Late Afternoon: Start the Colin Archer Memorial Race.
Navigate the challenging narrow channels between the sandbanks of the Wadden Sea.
Focus on precision sailing and strategic decision-making. Exit the Wadden Sea, turn starboard towards the first hindrance. Cross the TSS in the German Bight, a critical and demanding part of the race. And here we begin the long-distance run, managing fatigue and maintaining high performance.

Day 4 to 6 we are racing long distance (450 nm). Optimal watch system, always ensuring that we maintain our maximum speed with this wind strength and angle. A beautiful game.

Adjusting strategies according to weather and sea conditions and we Approach the finish line at Larvik, maintaining focus and teamwork.

On days 8 to 10, we will take time to rest and celebrate, perhaps even exploring the coast a bit more before everyone heads home. This period will be a perfect conclusion to our adventure, allowing us to soak in the last moments of our journey in Larvik. After the intensity of the race and the shared experiences with fellow sailors, these final days offer a chance to relax, reflect on our achievements, and enjoy the local surroundings. It’s an opportunity to bask in the afterglow of our adventure, filled with joy and pride, before returning to our daily lives.
