The RYA/MCA Coastal Yachtmaster Prep Week and Exam is an intensive training and assessment program designed to refine advanced sailing skills and prepare candidates for the rigorous Yachtmaster Coastal practical examination.

50 days at sea.
5 days as skipper.
2500 miles, of which 50% is tidal.
5 passages over 60 miles, including 2 overnight and 2 as skipper.
Required certifications:
VHF Radio Certificate.
First Aid Certificate.
Minimum exam duration:
8-12 hours for 1 candidate, 10-18 hours for 2 candidates.
Sea Survival or STCW 95.

MCA Yachmaste Offshore PREPWEEK + EXAM

The Yachtmaster Offshore Prep Week and Exam is an intensive course designed to refine  and sharpen your advanced sailing and navigational skills, culminating in the challenging Yachtmaster Offshore practical examination.

REQUERMENTS BEFORE NEXT STEP

Minimum sea time:
A qualifying passage of 600M, with at least 200M more than 50 miles from land or navigated objects.
Duration of at least 96 hours.
Full involvement in the planning and preparation of the passage.
Responsible position during the passage, as skipper or watch leader.
Navigation at sea using celestial navigation.
Required certifications:
RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence or MCA issued Certificate of Competence as a watch officer.
